Weekend Goals Galore

A weekend of premiership goals. I can't remember a time any weekend when we have had 3 teams blasting 6 goals past the opposition without reply.

All in all a total of 35 goals have been scored this weekend. not a bad return and we still have the City vs Liverpool game, which should contribute a few more goals to the weekend tally.

After a summer of at the goal-shy World Cup, we are finally being treated to the best football being played anywhere in the world. I don't think there was a dull match in the premiership this weekend, where teams stroll along and parking the bus in front of the penalty box hoping for a draw

In all matches, there were endless entertainment, with abundance end to end action. Even Blackpool  gave it a go at the Emirates and well, got truly beaten. Nonetheless, it was a honorable effort by Ian Holloway.

I believe this will be the trend for this season, where the managers have more believe in their teams and play positively in every match. Even this early in the season, we have seen that all teams (possibly with the exception of Wigan, at the moment) have the capacity to beat anybody. Newcastle's victory over Aston Villa must serve as a wake-up call to the top teams.

This evening we will see the home debut of Mancini's expensively assembled team and should be feature his latest 2 signings, Balotelli and Milner. This should be a good indication of who will be on the way out of Eastlands as the deadline to submit the 25 players is around the corner. Anybody not on the team this weekend should consider their options before the transfer window closes.
