Man United 3 - West Ham 0

In the late kick-off, Manchester United piled on misery to Avram Grant side in a predictably one side affair at Old Trafford. Goals by Rooney, Nani and Berbatov sealed a comfortable victory of the Hammers , who are looking none the better from last year and certainly early contenders for relegation.  Nani, in particular, was in splendid form for the Red Devils. He scored a fabulous second goal and set the the third, giving him the Man of the Match honours.

Elsewhere, champions Chelsea continued their unbeaten streak this season with a 2-0 victory of Stoke City. Florent Malouda's goal and a penalty by Drogba sealed the win while maintaining their perfect goal against record this season. 3 games, 0 goals conceded.

In other matches, Blackpool recovered from their mauling by Arsenal last week to draw 2-2 at home against Fulham with Dickson Etuhu scoring a late equaliser for visitors. Wolves and Newcastle also played to a 1-1 draw. Ebanks-Blake and Andy Carroll on the scoresheet for their respective teams.

The shock of the day came from White Hart Lane, as a red-hot Tottenham Hotspurs fell to a 0-1defeat at home to Wigan. Carlo Cudicini's first match back after his accident last year ended in misery as he allow Hugo Rodallega's tame shot to edge pass him into the goal.
